Disconnect & troubleshoot Xero
Disconnect Xero from bluprnts, switch to a different organisation, and fix the connection problems that actually happen — lapsed access and stale books.
Disconnect on the connection card removes the link between bluprnts and your accounting system. Your model keeps everything you have already filled in — disconnecting removes the source, not the figures.
Disconnect#
On the Accounting page, select Disconnect on the connection card.
After disconnecting, the page returns to "No accounting system connected" and the provider list, ready to connect something else.
Switch organisation#
If your Xero login covers several organisations, you do not need to disconnect — use the Read from picker on the connection card to change which one bluprnts reads.
Disconnect and reconnect only when you need to authorise a different Xero login.
Common problems#
"Needs reconnecting"#
The authorisation has lapsed. Select Reconnect. Nothing is lost — it picks up where it left off.
"Nothing has been posted for over a fortnight"#
Your ledger is behind, not the connection. bluprnts reads what is in your accounts, so refreshing changes nothing until the transactions are posted and reconciled in Xero.
The figures look wrong#
Check the Position read at date on the connection card. Figures are read at the month end before your forecast starts, so if your forecast window begins somewhere unexpected, the opening position will be read from an unexpected date too.
Then check the evidence column in Fill in from your books — it shows what in your accounts produced each figure.
Something is missing from Plan vs Actual#
Almost always an unmapped account. Open Account mapping, select Show all, and find the account. See Map accounts.
Nothing appears in Plan vs Actual at all#
Either no month has closed since your forecast started, or nothing has been mapped yet. The page distinguishes the two: "Nothing has closed yet" means it is working and waiting.
Only one system at a time#
A company reads from a single accounting system. If Connect isn't offered, something is already connected — disconnect it first.
