bluprnts is a cashflow forecasting app. You describe how your business actually works — what you sell, who you employ, what you spend, how you're funded — and bluprnts derives your forecast profit and loss, balance sheet, cashflow statement, bank balance and the metrics that come off them, including runway and breakeven.

These docs cover how to build that model and how to read what comes out of it.

How the model fits together#

Most forecasting tools start from your accounting history and project it forward. bluprnts starts from the drivers — the operational decisions you control — and calculates the accounting outputs from them. That is why you can build a forecast before you have any books at all, and why changing a decision changes the whole forecast rather than one line of it.

The model has three layers:

1. What you enter — your company settings, products, employees, sales, costs, financing, and any individual projects.
2. What gets built — a forecast across your model's time periods: profit and loss, balance sheet, cashflow statement, bank balance, sales forecast and ratios.
3. What gets derived — the figures you actually make decisions on: runway, breakeven, margins, and cash in and out.

Scenarios sit across all three. A scenario changes the inputs and everything downstream recalculates, so you can compare "hire three people" against "raise a round" side by side rather than keeping two spreadsheets.
