Customise sections & AI narrative
Edit, redraft and reorder a report in bluprnts — retune the whole document from the brief, or rewrite one section, and keep the narrative in step with the model.
A composed report is a draft, not a finished artefact. You can retune the whole document from its Brief, edit or redraft any written section, reorder sections, and remove the ones you don't want. What you cannot do is change a figure — those come from the engine.
Retune the whole document#
Brief in the toolbar reopens the composition settings:
- Tone — confident, balanced or conservative
- Scenario — which saved scenario the document features, or none
- Emphasis — the free-text steer
Select Update document to apply. The two behave differently, and the panel says so: scenario changes apply instantly, because the figures simply resolve against a different version of the forecast. Tone or emphasis changes ask the writer to redraft each section, which takes longer.
Work on one section#
Each block carries its own controls:

Editing and redrafting apply to prose blocks. Charts, tables, KPI strips and assumptions can be moved and removed but not reworded — there are no words in them to change.
Sections cannot be added back once removed, and there is no control for inserting a new one, so remove with a little care. Recomposing the report is the way back.
Editing prose by hand#
The editor is light markdown, and the figures inside it stay as {{token}} references rather than typed numbers. Leave them alone and the sentence keeps resolving from the live engine. Type a number over one and you have made it a fact that can go out of date — which is exactly what the token system exists to prevent.
Keeping the narrative honest#
When you change your plan, the figures in the report move but the sentences do not. So bluprnts compares the figures each section was written against with the live ones, and marks the sections that no longer describe reality. The toolbar counts them — "3 sections to re-narrate" — and each affected section can show you which figures moved and from what to what.
Redrafting a stale section rewrites it against the current numbers.
Brand colour#
Brand in the toolbar sets the document's accent colour, applied across every document. It is the one piece of visual styling a report exposes.
Frozen documents can't be edited#
A frozen report is locked — title, brief, sections and all. Unfreeze to work on it again, and remember that unfreezing returns every figure to live values, so a document you froze to match what you sent will start moving again.
