Product fields
Every field on a bluprnts product — name, type, retail and shipping price, unit costs, VAT and billing period — and the unit economics derived from them.

Fields#

| Type | Product, Service, Subscription or Bundle. Decides which cost fields appear |
| Summary | An optional description |
| Retail price | What you charge per unit |
| Shipping price | Shipping charged on to the customer, if any |
| Production cost | Per-unit cost to make or buy it |
| Storage & distribution cost | Per-unit warehousing and logistics |
| Shipping cost | Per-unit cost to ship it out |
| VAT applicable | Whether VAT is charged on this product. On by default |
| Billing period | Monthly, quarterly or annual. Subscriptions only — ignored by other types |
| Colour | Accent colour on charts and timelines |
Services and subscriptions have no production, storage or shipping costs — there is nothing to make, store or send.
Derived, not entered#

Defaults, and how sales override them#
A product holds the defaults a sale inherits. Every price and cost above can be overridden on an individual sale, so the same product can sell at one price retail and another wholesale without duplicating it. See Sale fields.
Deletion guard#
A product cannot be deleted while a sale uses it. Remove or repoint those sales first.
