A twelve-month cash forecast for Perch Coffee, a fictional café. Rows for each product, employee and cost show the months they are live; the lane along the bottom is the cash the forecast derives from them. In the “Base” plan the verdict is “Fully funded” — never runs out, lowest £55K — and the year ends on £61,400.

Why you can trust these numbers

Four questions, answered with your own numbers.

01

Will I run out of money, and when?

The plan carries your bank balance forward month by month, so the answer comes back as a date and a figure rather than a feeling.

02

Can I afford to hire two people in March?

Put them on the plan with their start dates and their pay, and watch what happens to cash for the rest of the year.

03

What if sales come in 20% under plan?

Pull the sales lever down in a second scenario and compare it against the plan side by side, without overwriting the one you already trust.

04

What do I show a bank, board or investor?

A report shaped for that audience, with the statements, the assumptions behind them and a written summary, exported as a PDF or shared as a link.

bluprnts is a cash flow forecasting app for founders, finance teams and small businesses. You model the parts of the business you actually run, and it derives the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statement, bank balance, runway and breakeven.

Most cash flow tools plug into Xero or QuickBooks and project your accounting history forward. They need a year of books before they can tell you anything.

bluprnts is driver-based. The forecast is built from the decisions you make: what you sell, who you hire, what you spend, what you borrow. So you can model a business, a product or a project with no trading history at all.

No accounting data required to start. No spreadsheet formulas to maintain.

Build the model

Your whole business on one timeline.

Every sale, hire, cost and loan lives on the plan: priced, dated, and earning or costing money month by month, for as far out as you plan.

The bluprnts Sales screen for Perch Coffee: every sale on one five-year timeline, grouped under the base plan, the second site and the online retail push, each line showing the months it runs and what it earns a month. The bluprnts Sales screen for Perch Coffee: every sale on one five-year timeline, grouped under the base plan, the second site and the online retail push, each line showing the months it runs and what it earns a month.
The Sales runway. Employees, costs and financing sit on the same timeline, each on their own screen.

You are not left alone with a blank plan.

You enter the drivers yourself. That is the model. Getting them in is guided, the assistant can build and change them with you, and Xero brings your real actuals in alongside.

Xero integration

Pull in real actuals to ground the forecast against reality. Xero is an input, not the engine.

AI assistant

Ask the forecast a question in plain English. It answers, and can change the model for you.

Projects

Model an initiative inside the business. Perch's second site and online push each carry their own plan.

The statements, the runway, and the month you break even.

From the same drivers, bluprnts writes the profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statement in full, month by month, and reads your bank balance, your runway and the month you break even off the same model.

You never touch a ledger.

All three statements, always in sync, and none of them assembled by hand.

The Financial Statements screen.

Over the next 5 years, Perch Coffee plans£7.6M of revenue at67% gross margin, breaking even inAug 2026. Cash never dips below£55K and closes the plan at£1.4M.

Every figure traces back to what produced it. Open any number in the statements and follow it down to the products, people, costs and financing it came from. Nothing is extrapolated and nothing is hidden in a formula, which is what makes the numbers defensible to an investor, a lender or an auditor.

The deliverable

Reports your lenders actually read.

Investor, lender and board reports in your brand, exported to PDF or shared as a live link. The narrative is written by AI. Not one number in it is. Every figure is computed by the engine from your model, and traces back to the driver behind it.

  • Numbers from the engine, never generated, always traceable
  • PDF export for the data room
  • Tokenised live links that stay current

What replaces the spreadsheet.

Not a category you have to be sold on. The file you already have, and what it costs you every time the business changes.

Founders & small businesses

bluprnts is cash flow forecasting software for founders and owners who need a forecast without an accountant, a finance team or a year of books to extrapolate from. You model your products, people, sales, costs and financing, and it derives your runway, breakeven and statements.

  • Answer "when do we run out" with a date, not a feeling
  • Price a hire or a raise before you commit to it
  • Walk into the bank or the raise with the statements behind you
For founders & startups →

Accountants & advisors

For accountants and advisors, bluprnts is a driver-based forecasting tool your clients can actually read. The model is built from the operational decisions they already understand, so the conversation is about the business rather than about the workbook.

  • Build a client's forecast in their language, not in formulas
  • Run scenarios in the meeting instead of promising a revised file
  • Produce branded reports for their bank, board or investors

Questions people ask before they start.

Do I need accounting knowledge to use bluprnts?

No. You describe the business in operational terms: what you sell and at what price, who you employ, what you spend, what you have borrowed or raised. bluprnts derives the accounting from it. The P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement are outputs, so you read them rather than build them.

Can I forecast before I have revenue or any accounting data?

Yes, and this is the main thing that separates bluprnts from tools built on top of Xero or QuickBooks. Those project your historical accounting numbers forward, so they need books to extrapolate from. bluprnts builds the forecast from the drivers you control, which means you can model a pre-revenue business, a new product or a new venture that has no trading history at all.

Do I have to connect Xero?

No. The Xero integration is optional and exists to ground your model against real actuals once you have them. It is an input, never the engine, and the forecast works fully without it.

Can I import my existing spreadsheet?

Not today. There is no spreadsheet import. You rebuild the model by entering the drivers directly, which is less work than it sounds: you are entering the decisions you already know rather than reconstructing the formulas that connect them. Guided onboarding walks you through the five driver types in order.

What can I change once the model is built?

Anything, at any time. Every figure in the forecast is computed from the drivers rather than typed in, so changing a price, a start date, a hire or a loan recomputes the statements, the runway and the reports immediately. Scenarios let you try a change alongside your base plan instead of overwriting it.

What do I actually get out at the end?

A forecast P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement, your bank balance month by month, runway, breakeven, a sales forecast and ratios. Plus stakeholder reports for investors, banks and boards with an AI-written narrative, which you can export to PDF or share as a link.

How is my financial data handled?

Your model is your business in numbers, so we set out plainly what is stored, who can reach it, what the Xero connection can and cannot do, and how to export or delete everything. The security page covers it without compliance claims we have not earned.
