FAQ

Short answers to common bluprnts questions — Excel export, whether you need accounting data, what a scenario changes, and where your data goes.

Short answers. Each links to the page that covers it properly.

Can I export to Excel or CSV?#

No. Reports export as PDF, through your browser's print dialogue. There is no spreadsheet export from the statements or the dashboards. See Export to PDF.

Do I need Xero to use bluprnts?#

No. bluprnts forecasts from your drivers — products, sales, people, costs, financing — so it works with no accounting data at all. That's the point of a driver-based model: you can forecast before you have books. Xero is an optional input that grounds the model against actuals. See Xero integration overview.

Can I forecast a business that hasn't started yet?#

Yes. There's nothing to extrapolate from, and nothing needs to be. You describe what you'll sell, who you'll hire and what you'll spend, and the statements are derived from that.

Does a scenario change my plan?#

No. A scenario bends the assumptions around your plan; the plan itself is untouched. Switching back to base restores your committed numbers exactly. See What scenarios are.

What's the difference between a scenario and a project?#

A scenario changes the numbers on things you already have. A project adds something new — with its own products, sales, people and costs — that you toggle on and off. See Scenarios vs projects.

Why is my profit positive but my cash negative?#

Timing. Revenue counts when you invoice; cash arrives when you're paid. See My forecast doesn't look right.

Does the AI write my numbers?#

No. The assistant and the report writer produce words and propose drivers; every figure comes from the calculation engine. See What a report is.

Can the assistant change my model without asking?#

No. Every change goes through a confirmation card, and everything it applies can be undone. See Limits and guardrails.

Can I model more than one company?#

On the Scale plan. See Plans.

Do I need a card for the free trial?#

No. Seven days, no card, nothing renews automatically. See Free trial.

What happens to my data if I cancel?#

Nothing is deleted. Access ends; your model is kept and is waiting if you resubscribe. See Cancel a subscription.

Which accounting standard do the statements follow?#

FRS 102, IFRS or US GAAP, whichever you set. There's also a plain-language Simple view that drops accounting terminology entirely. See The financial statements.

Reports are shared by exporting the PDF and sending it. Freeze the report first so the copy you sent and the copy in your account agree. See Share a report.
