Limits and guardrails

What the bluprnts assistant deliberately can't do — write without confirmation, reach another account, invent figures, or act outside the model you own.

The assistant is constrained on purpose. Knowing where the edges are is the difference between trusting it and checking everything twice.

It can't write without confirmation#

Every proposed change goes through the Apply N changes? card. There is no path from the assistant's decision to your data that skips it, and no setting that turns it off.

It can't reach anything that isn't yours#

It acts on your own company, through the same authorised endpoints the app uses, with exactly your permissions. It cannot read or change another account's data.

It can't redefine what it's allowed to do#

The system prompt and the set of actions available to it live on the server, not in your browser. The assistant cannot be talked into a capability it doesn't have, because the capability list isn't something the conversation can edit.

It can't change everything#

It works on your model's drivers and settings: products, sales, employees, costs, financing, projects and company options.

Scenarios and reports are not among them. Build scenarios on the Scenarios page and compose reports from the Reports page.

It doesn't produce the numbers#

The assistant writes words and proposes drivers. Every figure in your forecast comes from the calculation engine — the same one behind your statements. When it tells you your runway is eleven months, that figure came from the engine, not from the model's opinion.

It needs a subscription#

The assistant runs against an active subscription or trial. See Plans.

Where you still have to think#

  • Check the values on the confirm card. A misheard figure produces a confident, wrong model.
  • It doesn't know your market. It can tell you your gross margin is 38%; whether that's good for your industry is a judgement it is guessing at.
  • It works from what you tell it. An assumption you didn't mention is an assumption it can't model.
  • Undo is per session. The Changes panel covers what it has applied while you have been working. Once you have moved on, correcting a change means editing the record itself.
